With the proper transmission?

EX. All the features in this car make mine feel like it’s from the Stone Age.

CVT. Wife didn’t want manual.
Honestly this CVT is a really good pairing with the 1.5t. It’s probably the best automatic of any car I’ve ridden in.

Honestly I’ve not really been a passenger in my own car so I can’t really comment on how it compares in that respect, but as far as driving it, id say they’re somewhat similar. The civic has the edge in headroom, but the wrx has better visibility. However the visibility in the civic is really good despite its modern styling. The drivers seating position relative to the infotainment system is better in the civic. The seats in the civic are kind of...short? That’s the best way I can describe it, I feel like I have to stretch my legs out more to keep them supported on the seat if that makes sense.

Doesn’t the EX only come with the CVT? I dislike CVTs and this one had a little lag from a start but it’s better than some other manufacturers’ examples I have tested (Cough Subaru, Nissan). Context is important and in this application it’s tuned to the engine quite well.

Yeah she didn’t want manual and wanted CarPlay so EX was the way to go. The only two CVTs I’ve driven are the one in this Civic and the one in a 2016 Maxima and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by both. I’m sure there are some awful ones out there but these have been better than pretty much every standard automatic I’ve driven recently.

Have you tried getting a new wife?

It’s really weird to ride in your own car, especially the back.

So I had an awakening moment when we test drove this car for the first time. It’s not an especially quick car but the 1.5t is really lively and feels pretty quick from the passenger seat. My wife actually scared me.
I realized that if this is what 176 hp feels like from the passenger seat...then my car must feel downright terrifying. You just have no idea because when you sit in the drivers seat it feels normal.

That sounds about right. To me, the M3 doesn’t really feel that fast, since I’ve gotten used to it in almost 4 years.
Before I moved to Savannah, I drove down there to visit a girl. We were going somewhere in the M3 on the highway, and I mentioned that when people try to drive like assholes near me I show them what third gear does. She then proceeded to ask what third gear did. So I downshifted to third, at 60 mph or so, and floored it. The look on her face was that of pure terror.

Yup, I got it shortly after I got the car in 2014.

I’m sure the Honda will always beat a class-equal Subaru in cabin space. FWD cars inherently have less hardware taking up real estate.

That is financial suicide.

Hondas have been tight for me - headroom wise. I don’t really fit in the last gen coupe, (which is frustrating...) It’s my big head apparently...

You need a convertible with unlimited headroom. Then when you drive through mist, you can claim that your head is in the clouds!
